Most typing tests count down from a fixed duration and measure how many words you complete inside that window. This test flips that around: you type a fixed 250-word passage from start to finish, and the result is your completion time and accuracy. Some learners find this more motivating — there's a clear finish line rather than a clock running out — and it mirrors the format used by a few clerical and data-entry assessments that measure task completion rather than a timed sprint.
At the SSC CHSL benchmark of 35 WPM, 250 words takes roughly 7 minutes. A stronger intermediate typist at 50 WPM finishes in about 5 minutes. Track your completion time across attempts the same way you'd track WPM in a timed test — the trend matters more than any single run.
