Installation
Follow these steps to install the font on your Windows PC in under a minute.
Click the "Download Kruti Dev 010" button above. The file Kruti_Dev_010.ttf will be saved to your Downloads folder.
Navigate to your Downloads folder and double-click Kruti_Dev_010.ttf. A font preview window will open showing sample Hindi text.
Click the Install button at the top of the preview window. Windows will install the font system-wide. No restart required.
Open Microsoft Word (or any application), select Kruti Dev 010 from the font dropdown, and start typing in Hindi using the Remington keyboard layout.
Go to Settings → Time & Language → Language and add Hindi with the Devanagari-INSCRIPT layout. For Kruti Dev you type using English keys — no extra keyboard setup needed.
Keyboard Layout
Each English key maps to a Hindi character. Orange keys show what appears when you type (rendered in Kruti Dev 010).
Note: Characters are rendered using the Kruti Dev 010 font. If a key shows the same English character, that key has no standard Hindi mapping in Kruti Dev 010.

Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level — Data Entry Operator (DEO) post requires Kruti Dev at 8,000 KDPH.
Tax Assistant typing test requires Hindi typing in Kruti Dev font. Speed target: 2000 key depressions per hour in Hindi.
Computer Proficiency Certification Test for Madhya Pradesh government posts uses Kruti Dev 010 as the primary Hindi font.
Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Board clerical exams mandate Kruti Dev 010 for Hindi typing assessments.
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission clerical and typing recruitment tests use Kruti Dev font.

Kruti Dev 010 is the most widely used non-Unicode Hindi font in India. Developed using the Remington keyboard layout (also called the GAIL layout), it is the standard font for Hindi typing examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), state public service commissions, and various central government departments.
If your target exam is SSC CHSL, SSC CGL, or any state-level clerical post in UP, MP, or Rajasthan, download Kruti Dev 010. If your exam is UPSC, NIC, or court-related, learn Mangal Unicode instead. Many aspirants learn both.
To reach 30+ WPM: (1) memorise the matra positions — ा (a), ि (i), ी (I), ु (u), ू (U), े (e), ो (o), ौ (w); (2) learn consonant clusters using the halant key (d); (3) practice daily 20-minute sessions on our timed tests above.
