Daily Practice Length
Long enough to expose accuracy problems a 1-minute test hides, short enough to fit into a daily routine.

Long enough to reveal whether your accuracy holds up past the first burst of speed.
A 1-minute burst measures raw speed, but most typing errors creep in after the first minute, once concentration starts to drift. A 5-minute test is long enough to show whether your accuracy holds up under sustained typing, while still being short enough to run two or three times in one session. It's also a practical stand-in for the typing sections used in several IBPS Clerk and PO recruitment exams.
Watch your per-second WPM graph after the test — most learners see a dip somewhere between minutes 2 and 4. Target 35+ WPM at 95%+ accuracy, matching the SSC CHSL benchmark; see the full exam requirements table for other exams' figures. Consistency across the full five minutes matters more than a fast opening burst.
